Piece for "Letters to the Sun" (compilation)
Funds go to help Revive Gaza’s Farmland, a project by Golo Besmlah and the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature. The initiative works to rehabilitate devastated agricultural land and rebuild local food systems in Gaza. In a place where over 95% of farmland has been systematically destroyed - and where food is weaponised to subjugate and displace - the act of farming becomes an act of resistance.

Sound Workshop at AIF, Beirut, Lebanon Spent a week in Beirut, Lebanon in early August leading a workshop on sound editing and listening at the Arab Image Foundation. Workshop was organized by Yasmine Eid-Sabbagh and others. Sary Moussa co-led the sessions alongside myself. Participants were mainly from Burj el-Shemali. Sessions resumed online in the month of January/February and are ongoing.
Nicolás Jaar is a musician, writer, and educator born in NY. His music spans 7 solo records, film soundtracks (including Dheepan by Jacques Audiard, Beginning by Dea Kullumbegashvilli, among others), performances at Barbican and Lincoln Center, and sound installations at Sharjah Triennale and Het Hem, NL. His first fiction collection was published by Timeo in 2024, with a Portuguese translation by Ayné in 2025. He has taught at Museo de la Memoria, Santiago, Sonica Festival, Llubjana and Bethlehem based institutions Alrowwad and Dar Jacir. Since 2013, he has curated the Other People label, releasing the work of over 100 artists including Lydia Lunch, Alejandra Cardenas, Lucrecia Dalt, Aho Ssan, and more. He is part of the band Darkside (with Dave Harrington and TIacael Esparza), with 3 albums and multiple worldwide tours since 2011. He has also collaborated with musicians Ali Sethi (Intiha, 2023) and Patrick Higgins (Mist by AEAEA, 2026). In 2019, he co-founded art collective Shock Forest Group, with residencies at Van Abbemuseum and Mahler & LeWitt Studios in Spoleto, and publications in e-flux.
